You are cordially invited to tryout for the 2008-2009 Eastern Mass Senators Hockey Teams, at our tryout camp which will be held from March 28 – April 13, 2008. We are looking forward to our 17th season of highly competitive hockey.

Our program has a history of excellence and success. This requires dedication and a commitment from all of our players and staff. If you play a fall sport that may conflict with our program you should reconsider trying out for the Eastern Mass Senators. We expect your attendance at all of our games and practices. Less than a full commitment could result in your expulsion from our teams. Your commitment to us will reflect on our commitment to you!

This year our program will consist of four teams. Senators18-U and 16-U Tier I and Senators 18-Uand 16-U Tier II. The Senators 18-U and 16-U Tier I teams will compete in the Mass Hockey Tier I Midget Selects Hockey League. The Senators 18-U and 16-U Tier II teams will compete in the Massachusetts Tier II Midget Development Hockey League.

We will hold our tryout sessions at the O'Brien Rink in Woburn and the Hallenborg Arena at Billerica H.S. You are encouraged to attend as many of these tryout sessions as possible. Each player will have the opportunity to attend 4 tryout sessions which are listed below. The tryout fee is $75.00 if you register by mail. If you register at the tryouts, the fee will be $100.00. If you did not play for an USA Hockey Registered Team in the 2007-2008 season, there is an additional $30.00 Insurance Fee.

To register by mail, make checks payable to: Eastern Mass. Hockey and mail it with your application to: Eastern Mass. Hockey, 5 George Ave, Woburn, Mass. 01801. All mail registrations must be received by March 23, 2008 .

Please arrive at the tryouts 30 minutes before your scheduled ice time if you registered by mail and 45 minutes before your scheduled ice time if you are registering at the tryouts. To be eligible for these tryouts, you must be born between January 1, 1990 and December 31, 1993.

If your hometown Mass Hockey Program has a Midget Team and you are going to play for them you must make sure that your hometown team is not a “National Bound Team”. Massachusetts/USA Hockey rules prohibit players to be on more than one “National Bound Team”. If a conflict is discovered, the player's first commitment would be to his “Senators Team”.

All Mass. Tier I Midget Selects tryout participants should know that any team or organization that offers you a position on a Mass. Tier I Midget Selects roster must hold that position until the deadline of May 4, 2008, unless the participant declines the offer. You may accept or decline this position on or before the deadline. Any acceptance of a roster position before the deadline is non-binding and any deposits are refundable if you choose to play on another Mass Tier I team. Players are encouraged to tryout for multiple programs and make a final decision on or before the deadline .

The fee for those who play on one of our teams will be $800.00 which will include practices, league games, our two tournaments on Labor Day and Columbus Day week end's and the State Tournament for those teams that qualify. The fee is payable prior to our first game (in September). All players selected will also be required to sell 6 - $25.00 Raffle Tickets as part of our fund raising efforts to keep our cost down.
