2008 Eastern Mass Labor Day Classic

The Eastern Mass Senators Hockey Club is pleased to invite you to our 15th Annual "Labor Day Invitational Classic Tournament". The Tournament will be held on August 29-September 1, 2008.
Our tournament format will feature ALL games having 3 SEVENTEEN minute stop time periods with new ice at the start of each game and at the start of the third period. We will also have a 5 minute sudden death overtime period in our preliminary round games. We will be only having 8 teams at each level. (16-U Tier I & 18-U Tier I)
As always there is No Admission Fee Charged at the Door! We will also be providing 25 Complimentary Tournament Programs per Team!
We are very excited to announce that a portion of this year's tournament will be held at the Tsongas Arena, home of Hockey East's U Mass Lowell Riverhawks and the AHL's Lowell Devils (Paultsongasarena.com) and the Hallenborg Arena in Billerica, Mass.
This Tournament will be USA Hockey Sanctioned. All of your team's USA Hockey registration must be completed before you can participate in this tournament.
All teams will play four games, with those advancing to the Semi-Finals and Finals playing five and six games.
The Burlington Marriott will once again be our official host hotel. You should make your lodging arraignments ASAP. You can do this by selecting the hotel link on our tournament web page at www.easternmasshockey.com or by calling the Burlington Marriott @ 1-800-371-3625. Please make reference that you are attending the 15th Annual Eastern Mass Senators Labor Day Classic .
We will be awarding individual awards to each player and coach that make it to the final game and also a team trophy will be presented to each team in the Finals.
The purpose of these tournaments is to showcase the College eligible players for possible Scholarships. This gives the Division 2 and 3 schools the opportunity to see more players at once, as they do not scout on the road as often as the Division 1 schools. We will be mailing out schedules to ALL Division 1, 2, and 3 College hockey programs in the Northeast.
Also we will once again be hosting our 10th Annual Columbus Day Invitational Shootout, October 9 – 12, 2008. That tournament will have 4 divisions, 16U Tier I, 16U Tier II, 18U Tier I & 18U Tier II. As soon as that tournament is finalized details will be available.
